Vintage Loudoun

Description
Vintage Loudoun is a sixty-seven page tour guide of historic antique shops scattered throughout Loudoun County. I provide historical backgrounds of each shop, a brief biography of the owner(s), and a snippet of the goods that are sold at each location. To accomplish this, I studied several antique shops, conducted interviews, gathered information, and photographed major pieces of inventory.

The book was designed using textures that evoke an old, worn feel, like that of an antique. The section dividers feature hand-cut die cuts in the shape of keyholes. Their purpose is to create intrigue, as if the reader is peeking through an old key-hole trying to catch a glimpse of what is on the other side. The book was also hand bound by me.

Using an exacto blade, I created keyhole shaped die cuts that allow the viewer to peer through the page at an image. Under each die cut is a description of the image that is on the other side. Here the description reads, "...picturesque farms and villages surrounded by green pastures and rolling hills."

After each section divider is a brief overview of the town in which the following shops are located.
